#242: Hedgehog Spider

Is it possible to be so cute and yet so ferocious? Yes, if you're a hedgehog spider.

I stared at this half of a black walnut shell for months wondering what it could be as a spider. It isn't quite spiny enough for a porcupine (which has already been done), it sort of has a brain-like quality but the zombie spider has been done, too. At some point yesterday, I looked at it again and saw a hedgehog. Without the legs, what a great hedgehog kids' craft this is!

Materials: walnut shell, baking clay, brown and red bugle beads, brown and black seed beads, black drop bead, rusted wire
