The Trump International Hotel and Tower, also known as Trump Tower Chicago and locally as the Trump Tower, is a skyscraper condo-hotel in downtown Chicago, Illinois. The building, named after real estate developer Donald Trump, was designed by architect Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. Bovis Lend Lease built the 98-story structure, which reached a height of 1,389 feet (423 m) including its spire, its roof topping out at 1,170 feet (360 m). It is adjacent to the main branch of the Chicago River, with a view of the entry to Lake Michigan beyond a series of bridges over the river.

Hong Kong’s tallest: Two International Finance Centre (415m/1,362f tall, 88 stories, 2003).
It will be Hong Kong’s tallest for at least four years until the 474m/1,555f, 111 stories tall Union Square Phase 7 will be completed (2007). This building will be built on Kowloon, and not on Hong Kong island, where Hong Kong’s five tallest buildings currently can be found. The building was built on reclaimed land and is part of a US$2.8 billion complex, which includes the shorter One IFC, the Four Seasons Hotel, a large luxury shopping mall and Hong Kong Station.

Jinmao Tower stands at a height of 421 meters or 1,380 feet. It is located near the Lujiazui Metro station. It was built at a cost of US$530 million. Like the Petronas Twin Towers, the measurements of Jinmao Tower revolves around the number 8, which is considered auspicious to the Chinese.

Guangzhou Twin Towers West Tower is a 432 metre tall skyscraper with 103 floors under construction at Zhujiang Avenue West in Tianhe District at Guangzhou, China. It will be when completed used as conference centre, hotel and office building. The lowest 69 floors of Guangzhou Twin Towers West Tower are planned to be used as office, the floors 70 to 98 as hotel and in floor 99 and 100 there will be an observation deck. Construction of Guangzhou Twin Towers West Tower, which was designed by Wilkinson Eyre, started in 2005. It will be completed in 2009 and than together with its twin one of the tallest highrise buildings in Guangzhou and China.

The Petronas Towers are some of the highest buildings in the world. They are  452 meters tall. The two towers are connected by a sky bridge. When you want to visit the towers, then the sky bridge is the highest point you can get. At this level is also a restaurant located.

The Shanghai World Financial Centre, or Center, is a soaring glass skyscraper with a distinctive opening at the top. The original plans called for a 46 meter (151 foot) circular opening that would reduce wind pressure and also suggest Chinese symbolism for the moon. Many people protested that the design resembled the rising sun on the Japanese flag. Eventually the opening was changed from circular to a trapezoid shape.

With a massive 60-foot spire inspired by Twaiwan’s native bamboo plant, Taipei 101 Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world. Its height above ground is 509.2 m. This includes the 60 m spire; the building also holds the record for the highest roof (440 m).

Construction of the tower began on 21 September, 2004. On 21 July, 2007, Burj Dubai surpassed the 509.2m tall Taipei 101 as the tallest building on earth.
