Ho ho ho! The Santa spider leaves surprises wherever it goes.
Santa did not arrive at our house until very late last night (2 a.m. to be specific), and then the children arose at the utter crack of dawn (just short of 5 a.m. to be exact) wanting to open presents. So Ma in her kerchief was much disgruntled having not entered R.E.M. sleep and then finding that she forgot to add coffee to her grocery list the day before. Soon after the mayhem of torn wrapping paper; the removal of twist ties, tape, and plastic; the assembly of toys; and a breakfast of baklava, Ma laid down on the couch for an hour and a half of fitful sleep to be awakened by children throwing remote controls at one another and screaming. After a repeat of baklava and a successful cup of coffee from coffee grounds found in the grinder, Ma returned to a state of normalcy, settling down at her computer to do work that she did not complete when she should have! Merry Christmas to all, and to all...a real vacation somewhere on an uncharted island. Is that too much to ask??
