I've been planning this spider for a long time but just had to sit down to make the pom-poms. I bought a pom-pom maker years ago, and this was the first time I used it! I didn't want to use beads for the legs because I felt that this spider needed to be made using fibers, but I did use wire for the legs so that I had something around which to wrap the embroidery floss. When I was in high school, I learned to use this wrapped-string method for my hair after a summer fad for a type of hair "braid." Does anyone else remember doing this?
This is probably the largest spider I've made with the fewest materials.
