This a pure example of what an African woman should be like. She emerged from no where to a spotlight through hard work and determination. She has proved to many girls out there who shares a dream of becoming supermodels that it is possible. And to the rest of us her success shouts loud and clear that "just work hard, have faith, believe in yourself and do not let anyone let you down or pull you back"  Mimi binafsi she is my very own hero. Way to go Miriam

.
Miriam Odemba found fame in 1999 when she was one of four Face of Africa finalists selected to take part in the Elite Model Look of the Year competition in Nice, France. There, she went ahead to win herself a two-year contract worth US$50,000 with Elite Model Agency.
Miriam Odemba  is also Miss Tanzania Earth 2008 and Miss Earth Air 2008 (first runner up). She is one of the best models from Tanzania. She started her modeling career at an early age and emerged into the limelight in 1997 when she won the Miss Temeke title. The following year she took part in the Miss East Africa beauty pageant and finished second. At 13, her life was tough and her parents had to move to their uncle. She always wondered what life was all about then. As she grew older, she perceived God’s message of love and started appreciating everything around her especially the nature, God’s greatest gift to not only to her but to all of us

Odemba also won Miss Aficionado, a minor award. Other winners include: Miss Philippines Karla Paula Henry as Miss Earth 2008, Miss Mexico Abigail Elizalde as Miss Earth-Water (second runner-up), Miss Brazil Tatiane Alves as Miss Earth-Fire (third runner-up).

Habari za kuaminika zinasema kuwa Miriam sasa hivi ni mama wa binti mrembo aitwae Iris

Kutoka Bongo tunakuombea afya njema wewe na baby Iris.hopefully she will follow  her mother's footsteps. not many people can do what you have done and to girls who understands the meaning of devotion and hard work especially in beauty industry you are their role model. I over heard one Former Miss Tanzania giving account of how scared she was moments prior to Miss world competition, until Miriam appeared in the back room and talked to her and encouraged her she had never met Miriam personally before but her presence and words were enough to calm her down, and she did well, very well actually.

Make Tanzania Proud Miriam continue doing what you are best at.
